Science

I think the purpose of this blog is to write about science and human culture. I'm interested in many things besides science - and "science" is a pretty broad category - but I want to try to convey just how vast science is. It is so integral to our daily lives yet it is all but invisible. And the old adage rings true: out of sight, out of mind. people have a narrow view of science - I hate to generalize people like that but in my experience I've found it's often the case. Science is not a thing, or a single theory... it is not an alternate belief system... it is most definitely not a religion! Science is a method. It is simply a way of asking and answering questions. It's rigorous and even painful sometimes. There are many questions that science has no way of answering... yet. Science has answered many questions previously thought unanswerable. Time marches on. Knowledge gaps shrink. I think as long as we have the courage to ask the questions and face the answers, we'll eventually move out of the darkness.
